FRANCOIS JOST is Professor Emeritus at Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III, where he created the Centre for Studies on Media Images and Sound (CEISME). He has been a Visiting Professor at many universities around the world. A specialist in images, he has written or edited more than thirty books on cinema and television and published 270 articles or book chapters.
His French-language publications include: L’Œil-caméra. He is also the author of two novels, Les Thermes de Stabies and #balancedonprof (Atlande). He has written and directed several fiction and documentary films, including La Mort du révolutionnaire, hallucinée, which won the Critics’ Prize at the Hyères Young Cinema Festival in 1979.
He is the editor-in-chief of Télévision, the first French-language academic journal devoted to the medium, published by CNRS Éditions. He also edits the “À suivre” series on television series at Atlande.
